I don’t really know if this is as big of a deal as it’s being made out to be, but his response is pretty ridiculous! Some people are complaining about Apple’s quality control for not noticing this during testing, but I think they knew about it, and I think Jobs’ reply proves it. Even in their official notice, they say holding it in a certain way might make it worse, and that having a case or bumper will fix the problem. If they’re not going to fix the design, they should at least ship out free bumpers with it, or give them out to people who have the issue with their iPhone. Jobs’ reply alone will open them up to all kinds of legal issues, much less consumer backlash.
Personally, the antenna issue isn’t that big of a deal to me because I don’t think it’s as widespread as everyone believes and the ‘phone’ of my iPhone is one of the least used parts. The bigger issue would be if my screen has the yellow blotches, but I think that’s already been proven to go away by itself. I almost want to cancel my order based on Steve Jobs’ email alone…but I won’t.
Anyone else frustrated with Apple’s response to this?
This has some really great software and you can even get it for free. I usually don’t donate for free software because I rarely use it for long, but I think I might for this because it looks very professional and helpful.
…And then it struck me—there is very little difference between Joel and those fortune cookies (except that the cookies are delicious, of course). And now, to prove it, I will give you these twelve quotes. You tell me which are from the fortune cookies and which are from Joel Osteen.
